Allardyce can't win can he?

The fact is that two individual player errors cost us the Spurs game.

Subsitutions and tactics can be debated but arguing that these reasons cost us 3 points is hypothetical.

As someone previous posted, if every tactical change and substitution of the season were all spot on and correct then we would be sitting top of the league. Because they can only be justified as correct if we win.

If he leaves Noble on the pitch and he gets sent off and we lose the game you would be slaughtering Allardyce for not making the change.

Same goes if he makes any change and brings on Nolan.

He could have gone top heavy, gung ho, bulked up the midfield or threw on every defender to defend for their lives. But whatever the choice, if it cost us the game then you would all be pointing the finger.

The fact is you don't like him, so he can't win regardless.

The fact is we were terribly unlucky and with a little luck we could easily be parading the scalps of Man Utd and Spurs. We could also easily have not lost to WBA if we had got some transfers over the line in January (Diarra, Mbodj & Adebayor) as we wouldn't have had to play a make shift defence or play Noble and Nolan. It would also have boosted and energised the squad after having 3 games in 6 days.

Football is all about fine margins but when you look at an overall picture of over 3 seasons nobody can say he hasn't done a great job.

If he goes in the summer then he goes but until then, quit your moaning and get behind him. All this negativity only disrupts the players and the club. So get behind the Manager at least until the summer to show some support for the team and club that you all claim that you love.

Irons.

Pretty much agree.

I was going to reply to each point you make, but I checked the board and it seems to be mainly devoid of reaction to the game, so I will have a think and then start another thread with my reaction.

Please don't post on it, just start another thread with your responses.

We've thrown away plenty of leads this season tbh...

I think we're just one of those unlucky clubs that likes to show itself up...

No because the Spurs game was yesterday.

I was taking to a yid at work today; and he was telling me how we were lucky not to have Noble sent off, and we were lucky that our second goal was awarded because Valencia was in an offside position.

Which is why I generally don't bother when people start whining about luck.

It's not bad luck when, at two nil up, your manager decides to take off your defensive midfielder and bring on a fucking striker.

You feeling alright Eddie?

Cause you just called Carlton Cole a striker.

I don't like him but I don't think he was to blame for not winning yesterday.

Don't really know where I fit in. Please tell me.

Re: Damned if he does and damned if he doesnt...
Absolutely untrue and entirely wrong set of assumptions. I don't like SA because he is a dreadful manager. It is not personal.

I would not have criticised SA for bringing on Nolan. It was the right thing to do. Take off the captain midfielder and replace him with another captain midfielder. What could be simpler?

It would have been fine to bring Collins, JOB or Demel on. Even to have Poyet on the bench who returned from injury over a week ago if he did not want to use Nolan.

But to bring a lumbering forward on in place of noble is just plain ridiculous when defending a 0-2 lead away from home. We went from 4-1-4-1 to 4-5-1 with Valencia and Sakho in midfield until Valencia went off and the slower Jarvis came on.

SA is damned because although he's a man's man and an Alpha male, he's fucking clueless when it comes to tactics.

Glenn Rodent 6:09 Mon Feb 23
Re: Damned if he does and damned if he doesnt...
He clearly isn't clueless with tactics or a dreadful Manager because we are 8th. You might not agree with how he goes about things which is fair enough, but that doesn't make him clueless.

If he was as clueless or as dreadful as you say he is then we wouldn't have made it out of the Championship or we would now be rock bottom.

So it must be personal.

It's complete bollox.

The tactical change and substitution was not a direct cause of why we conceded or didn't win the game. As I've said, it is all hypothetical because if Adrian had saved the Rose shot and Kane had skied the penalty over the bar then you wouldn't even be commenting about tactics.

The individual errors were the reasons.

stewie griffin 6:18 Mon Feb 23
Re: Damned if he does and damned if he doesnt...
Well yes, the individual reasons were the reasons.

But the reason we surrendered the midfield area that we had dominated was because of the change in shape.

I'm not sure there's anything remotely controversial about that

FMOB this ar*sehole Glenn Rodent has turned into a right gobshite.

Is this the Glenn Rodent website or is it a forum for every West Ham fan?
Nope according to the Rodent it is HIS website now and no other opinion except supporting BFS is allowed.

Rodent you come across to me as an unintelligent childish self-opiniated idiot.

Are you related to Fat Sam by any chance?

Now go and ask your Mummy to change your nappy, there's a good boy.

Glenn Rodent 6:09
It is not personal Glenn. I was fully supportive of SA earlier this year and admitted he had changed my mind because I was seeing football I didn't believe he could ever mastermind.

To me it's just as if he gets a bollocking from DG & DS and so plays an attacking game. We then go 0-2 up away at Tottenham which then proves him wrong and the Directors right. So what does he do?

He makes changes that seem as though he deliberately sabotages the game by taking off Noble and bringing on Carlton. I know it sounds ridiculous but someone explain how any manager 0-2 up in an away game brings off a midfielder and brings on a pretty useless centre forward?

Willtell.
What was the score, when Cole came on?
What was the score, when Cole went off?
Who replaced him?

Tell me, who would you have put on, instead of Collins?
Do you think that Song was following orders, by giving away the penalty?
Do you really blame the manager for a fluke goal and a 'last second' penalty?

Re: Damned if he does and damned if he doesnt...
Willtell & HMP,

Fair enough points, maybe I am going going overboard and I'll reign it in going forward. I didn't agree with the tactics or substitutions either but I just think it is slightly harsh that people want him sacked when in the overall scheme of things he has done a decent job.

I can see why people don't like him and I can sometimes see why people don't agreet with how he goes about things in terms of style, player choice and management. I also am not quaking in my boots that things could go a lot worse if he leaves. I just think that he is doing a pretty decet job overall and all I crave as a fan is stability because in recent years there hasn't been any and I think he could bring that. Ido want us to kick on as a club, be more adventurous and maybe land a manager that embraces the fans, respects the ethos of the club and can play a style that will get us all on te edge of our seats. I just think that if we are too pushy and don't show patience until we get to the new stadium then the current fan pressure of the manager could send the club tumbling backwards. I appreciate im only one voice and it isn't about me. So I won't post anything else. I just want what we all want. which is success and to be proud of our club. Anyway sorry for being harsh or for going overboard.

Cheers
